Not an idea, but a screen setup that I find useful as an overview: VXX/SPY on the right and names to watch on the left. Seems like the grid doesn't show on the published idea, but the indicators are all there.
I like $CELG here as it seems to be have been accumulated since 1/14 as shown by the OBV and Accumulation/Distribution indicators trending upwards. Went long via a 155/165 Feb22 bull put spread on Tues 1/21. Earnings on 1/30.
Another high short interest name: 34% short, 43 days to cover, from shortsqueeze.com. Looking at Nov 20 calls.
Probably short positions getting closed.
This small float has been trading in a sideways range since an Aug breakout. According to shortsqueeze.com it has a 23.8% ratio, with 42.2 days needed to cover. Since the all time high is around 53, there is very little breathing room to cover those positions that were looking for a large selloff. I was looking to short $AAPL for a scalp by buying puts. I bought 5 435 weekly puts at the time shown by the red arrows. Watching the MACD slope for a change in sign alerts that a reversal might be coming. A 5 min chart works well for fast-moving stocks, while 7 or 10 minutes will give fewer false alarms. Sell signals look good, but also looks like a bull flag, and the A/D is pointing up
Use multiple time-periods, 5 mins for entries suggested by 15/30 minutes. The little bounce indicated by the green arrows was not confirmed at the time of writing.
