Ethereum (ETH) surged 5.4%, breaking out of its multi-month downtrend and reclaiming the $1,600 resistance for the third time in a week, closing around $1,640 before reaching $1,658 on Monday morning.

Ethereum will implement its Pectra upgrade on May 7, enhancing scalability and user experience with account abstraction, a higher staking limit, and better rollup features.
